Hope this is ok to post but it is related to Sparks as the decision has cut me off from many Sparks fans i have made over the years and stopped me contacting them on Facebook.

Anyway to cut a very long story short i got my Facebook account closed for going against their Community rules (really?) So i got one chance to appeal which basically was to upload a picture (no message or proper appeal just a recent picture) .So i did this thinking it will be sorted only to find a lovely Email saying my Appeal failed and i was banned permanently (still no proper reason why or chance to appeal)..

So i have since learned that thousands of other innocent people have had the same lovely experience from META/Facebook..The BBC News page has had a feature on it and i have copy pasted a very small section of it but it looks like META have got this wonderful AI system enrolled that bans people by what they post or say and it is basically making terrible errors..
I'm not to bothered about losing Facebook TBH but i do miss not being able to contact my Sparks friends like Alex and Simon regarding Sparks and having all my other Sparks friends in my friends list just in case i need to ask them something or just to comment on their Sparks posts like i love doing on Rob Muirs posts and posts by Alex,Merral,Simon etc..
anyway heres a copy paste of a small part from the BBC post regarding people getting banned :-

Facebook and Instagram users have been contacting the BBC complaining about having their accounts arbitrarily banned, and struggling to get them reinstated.

Last week Meta - which owns the platforms - acknowledged a "technical error" which it said was causing the wrongful suspension of some Facebook Groups.

Since then, people who use what is the world's biggest social media company have been getting in touch with the BBC to describe the impact it is having on them - and say the problem goes much wider than Meta has indicated.

Some say they have been shut out of pages that are key to their working lives, while others highlight the digital connections to loved ones that have been cut.

There is also frustration that - despite Meta saying it is fixing the problem - there is often no human to speak to about an issue they suspect is caused by moderation decisions powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

They have also described how Instagram accounts have been affected, despite Meta saying it does not have evidence of a problem on its platforms more widely.

More than 25,000 people have signed a petition in the last few weeks which says the problem is being experienced across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Thousands of people are in Reddit forums dedicated to the subject, many users are posting on social media about being banned by Meta, and some say they plan on taking a class action lawsuit against the social media giant.

I don't hold any hope of getting back my Facebook page but i hope my Sparks friends can let each other know what happened or can read this post and know why i vanished plus also to be very careful of what you post on that site now as AI is watching and making serious errors and the Appeal system is pathetic with zero chance of actually being able to contact a real human to plead your case,It's Automated robots with no real help..

I rejoined FB (much against my better judgement) when l joined this forum thinking it would enhance my communication with other Sparks people......I'd been on it about a week when l received a notification about community rules or some such thing regarding posting...similar to yourself Peter, l was given an opportunity to appeal within a certain length of time....
I decided not to bother as l generally avoid social media at all costs and l was glad to have this second chance at being walking away from FB.

The other reason l decided not to appeal was that when I received my 'reprimand' l had in fact posted ...
Nothing!
I had posted not a jot....not one word!...🤣

The absurdity of the situation made me laugh but l can understand if you have invested time and energy in this social set up to be treated like this is very upsetting......hope you get something sorted.

Bless you mate and sorry about the treatment you also received from FB..The Appeal system is a joke so well done you declining it as you avoided the rude brutal way they do it.It's not an appeal just some kinda weird joke of a system asking for a picture and then a decision that only goes one way.
I can live without FB mate i grew up when there was no Social media and we only had 3 TV stations and i have often said life was better without Social media. It does have it's plus points there's no doubt but it also has many negative points too.
